General FAQs

Yes. Every quote is free with no obligation. Call 0405 057 101 or send through your details and we’ll arrange a time to look at the job and give you a price.

We are. Our arborists are qualified, and we carry public liability insurance to the value of $20 million, so your home and property are protected while we work. We’re also Approved Contractors of the Queensland Arboriculture Association.

Clean Cut Tree Services has been providing tree care to Gold Coast locals for over 25 years. We’re locally owned and run, so we know the local conditions, local tree species, and the council rules that apply.

We cover Gold Coast suburbs, including Ashmore, Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads, Currumbin, Labrador, Mermaid Beach, Mudgeeraba, Nerang, Robina, Southport, Tallebudgera, Tweed Heads and Molendinar.

Yes. We take on residential, body corporate and commercial work, from a single overgrown tree through to ongoing maintenance across a larger site.

Sometimes, depending on the tree and it’s location. We stay up to date with Gold Coast City Council legislation and can handle applications to local government where they’re needed, so you don’t have to work it out on your own.

Tree Lopping

Lopping covers a range of work, from tidying up an overgrown tree and removing a few branches through to taking the whole tree down. Removal is the complete job. When you call for a quote we’ll talk through what your tree actually needs rather than just quoting the biggest option.

It can be high risk without the right training and gear, which is why it’s worth using a professional. Our loppers hold a minimum Certificate 3 in Arboriculture and work with an experienced ground crew, and we carry $20 million public liability insurance.

It depends on the size of the tree, access, and what needs doing, so we price each job after seeing it. A professional crew with the right equipment is often quicker and more cost effective than people expect. Work that might take a couple of blokes with a trailer a few days can take a trained crew a few hours.

Yes. We clear the debris, remove green waste and leave the site tidy. We can also grind the stump, just let us know when you book.

We’re a complete tree service. Alongside lopping we do tree pruning, hedging, palm cleaning and full tree removal, so most jobs can be handled in one visit.

Tree Pruning

Regular pruning keeps trees healthy and encourages strong, well formed growth. It also lets us remove dead or hollowed branches before they drop, lift the canopy off roofs, fences and paths, and thin out dense growth so more light gets through.

It depends on the tree and the reason for pruning, but heading into the Queensland storm season is a common time to book. Storm season usually runs from November to late March or early April, and removing weak or dead branches beforehand helps protect your home and property.

Poor pruning can. Removing too much of the canopy or cutting branches incorrectly causes rapid regrowth and leaves open wounds where disease and fungus can get in. We prune to the Australian Standard AS 4373 for amenity trees, which keeps growth slow, stable and healthy.

Yes. We use directional pruning and canopy reduction to pull growth back from buildings, roofs and neighbouring fences, with results that last longer and need less ongoing maintenance than basic lopping.

It can. Crown thinning opens up a dense canopy so sunlight can filter through, which helps with dark patches, dead grass and blocked solar panels. It also reduces wind resistance, which makes the yard a bit safer in strong weather.

Stump Grinding

A stump grinder is a tracked machine with a rotating toothed wheel that chips away at the timber. The operator works it side to side until the stump is ground down below ground level, then the grindings are used to backfill the hole.

We grind the stump to just below ground level, to a maximum depth of around 300mm. That’s enough for re turfing or starting a new garden bed in that spot.

The machine is about 900mm wide, so we need roughly 1 metre of clear access to reach the stump, plus space around it and the surface roots. Stumps tight against concrete, fences or on top of retaining walls can be tricky to reach and may only be partly ground.

It can, because grinding goes below the surface. We advise against grinding near shallow services like plumbing, Telstra cables or irrigation. If you’re not sure what’s underground, you can get plans from Before You Dig Australia, and we’ll talk through the safest approach.

There are a few options. The stump can be dug out fully by hand or with an excavator, burnt off in the right conditions, or left and turned into a garden feature. Give us a call and we’ll work out what suits your situation.

It’s not compulsory, but it’s usually worth it. Stumps can be a trip hazard, attract termites and pests, and start spreading decay across the lawn as the roots break down. You can have it ground as part of the removal or as a separate job later on.

Tree Removal

We remove the lot. Our crew clears all the debris and green waste from site and leaves your place clean and tidy. We can grind the stump out too as an optional extra, so there’s no trace of the tree left behind.

There’s no tree too big or too small for our team. Whether it’s a large tree in a tight spot or one out in the open, our qualified crew works out the safest, most efficient way to remove it while protecting everything around it.

Once you accept your quote we allocate a booking spot and confirm an exact date and time about 1 week prior. Your job goes straight into our schedule with the right crew and equipment assigned, so you’re not left wondering whether anyone is turning up.

Sometimes, depending on the tree and it’s location within the property. Our qualified arborists know the local government rules and can complete the application for you, so it’s a smooth process rather than a headache.
